Many recruiters mimic the actual interviewing process to make sure if they send you to their clients that you will perform well. Everyone needs a great résumé so get as much help as you can. Learn how to sell yourself and prepare statements for questions you will be asked. For all types of socially responsible jobs an attitude for the “greater good” is a good way to present yourself but not necessary the best. Most employers are unique but follow the standard principal to land your job.
Create an Intriguing Résumé
Use a simple layout for your resume and remember content is king. Be as specific as you can an articulate your experience well.
Don’t just list your job skills but describe how they can benefit the company. State your accomplishments. Compare what you might be asked in an interview and align your resume with them.
Compose a clearly stated job objective to easily communicate where you want to be in the company. State what you want to do, for whom, where, and at what level of responsibility.
First impressions are important and you only have one shot so talk yourself up and be confident.
Proofread and use professional language. Avoid placing computer programs you know unless you know the company uses it. Many times people will see obscure software that they have never heard of so if you need space on your resume trim what the company won’t care about. |
