GEOTHERMAL ENERGY JOBS

Jobs in Geothermal Energy

The geothermal industry employs skilled workers and those with professional degrees that apply to geothermal energy jobs.

Geothermal jobs include developing hot water reservoirs underground using the earths tempurature. this requires geologists, geochemists, geophysicists, hydrologists, reservoir engineers, mud loggers, hydraulic engineers, and drillers to locate, assess, and access the reservoirs. Environmental scientists prepare environmental impact studies, and permit and leasing specialists obtain the land rights.

Geothermal direct-use technologies create jobs for heating engineers, and in the building and agricultural industries. For electricity production, engineers (electrical and mechanical) and construction workers—along with electrical technicians, electricians, electrical machinists, welders, riggers, and mechanics—are needed to design and construct power plants.

Mechanical engineers, geologists, drilling crews, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractors are needed to manufacture and install GHPs. In addition, mechanical and electronic engineers, geologists, chemists, and materials scientists are required for ongoing R&D.

Geothermal energy
Miles deep in the earth’s crust there are pockets of heat. There are three types of power plants that generate power from geothermal energy: dry steam, flash, and binary. Dry steam plants get energy from steam coming out of fractures in the ground and putting it through generator that spins because of a direct drive turbine. Flash plants takes underground water with the temperature usually over 390 degrees Fahrenheit, and puts the steam through the turbines to generate power. In binary plants the boiling underground water flows through turbines that spin. With all these systems the water that is not used is injected back into the earth to pick up more heat and repeat the process.

Renewable energy jobs and green jobs are a major of socially responsible jobs.  With the green movement, green jobs will become a pillar of our economy. Renewable Energy jobs are becoming a major politics importance.

Renewable Energy is a small percentage of the total energy used in the United States.

LIVE GREENER EVERYDAY

Working together, we can make renewable energy jobs more mainstream. One of the best things about renewable energy jobs is that it is generated from natural resources. Sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat are all renewable and naturally replenished and offer sustainable jobs and job growth. Each year more and more businesses become green companies and use more renewable energy and create renewable energy jobs. Wind power has grown in the energy technology market 30% every year. With climate and economic change concerns, renewable energy is readily becoming a solid investment to diminish our oil and other fuel and energy dependency. With all renewable energy jobs it is easy to see the benefits of using a source that can be used over and over again.
